The FirstDraft™ cDNA libraries provide a valuable source for the discovery of new genes, and as evidence for predicted proteins and alternative splice isoforms. To provide a discovery system with the most complete representation of expressed genes, each FirstDraft™ product is comprised of two main libraries derived from different cDNA sizing procedures (Low Sizing >800 bp, and High Sizing >2000 bp). The libraries are offered as primary clones that have never been amplified, preserving the representation of the rarest and most fragile mRNA sequences.

The FirstDraft™ product is provided in a format containing 48 sub-pools and 2 master pools-where purified DNA and a glycerol stock is supplied for every pool
(Unique Library Format). This unique format increases the probability of finding rare and novel genes, and is particularly useful
for the discovery of new splice isoforms and gene-family members. The DNA is ready to use and suitable for PCR cloning, in vitro RNA
transcription and transfer into other systems for protein interaction studies.
Collection of FirstDraft™ cDNA Libraries: A Limited Edition
The FirstDraft™ cDNA Libraries are a unique collection of high-quality plasmid cDNA libraries. The collection includes several libraries of Human cancer cell lines derived from breast, colon, lung, ovarian, prostate and renal cancer, as well as, leukemia and melanoma. A total of 28 different cancer cell lines are represented from the NCI60 list-the set of 60 human cancer cell lines selected by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for pharmacological studies. An extraordinary Human Brain Library derived from 12 distinct regions is also offered, as well as, a selection of rat libraries. These libraries are also available as Master Pools Only (MPO), which are designated by the corresponding MPO catalog number.
